Sorry for beeing late on this one, as I am particularly sensitive to the issue of web accessibility, I wish to support @Nancy OShea's recommendations regarding the importance of complying with WCAG. The initiative to integrate these standards into our sites seams essential to ensure an inclusive experience.
On our end, we've recently published an blog's article on setting up a work and testing environment focused on accessibility. This article addresses various aspects we've encountered and might be of interest to you: Create a Test Environment to Evaluate Web Accessibility (The article is in French, but you should have access to a translator menu in the top left-hand corner).
Additionally, on LinkedIn thre is a series of articles discussing the responsive aspect of websites, emphasizing accessibility from the design phase. If you're interested, here's the link : Why Responsive Websites Are Not Just a Simple Step for Website.
With @L e n a , we're preparing a practical guide on the basic rules to take into account when setting up a site, or an application, to improve accessibility. We're thinking of building on an earlier article that was still in draft form and hadn't been finalized "What is meant by accessibility? "
We recognize that one of the major challenges lies in adapting existing codebases. If you've faced obstacles or successes in this area, please feel free to share them. As @Nancy OShea mentioned, it's often a matter of common sense and collaboration.

Hello @divyasin , thanks for your feedback and sorry for the delay, I've had quite a bit of delay in email management.
During this time I was able to investigate and I was contacted by the beta service (automatic reply with registration link), unfortunately, the SDK seams apparently only JAVA oriented...
On the other hand, digging into the link you provide, it looks like a REST API might be what I'm looking for... good to investigate as export to XML doesn't seem to be supported, or documented
Can you, please, confirm that the beta program can cover this type of external use integrated with third-party applications (PHP or Node.js and Export to XML), or is it JAVA-only regarding API deployment?
If so, is it possible to speak to the development team before finalizing registration?
Thanks again for your attention and have a pleasant day birnou

Before diving into a more in-depth study, I wanted to reach out to all of you to see if you have any feedback or thoughts on the topic.
As for the extraction API, I still haven’t heard back from Adobe, so I continued my search and here’s what I’ve found:
Zamzar offers 100 free tests and then a minimal subscription starting at 25 euros per month. However, it doesn't seem to support XML, only XLSX: https://developers.zamzar.com/docs
PDF.co seems to be more flexible with the number of tests and covers a wide range of languages like Node, PHP, and Python: https://developer.pdf.co/api/pdf-to-xml/index.html
DocParser has a limited trial period (14 days), so it’s best to be available and not have too many big tasks running in parallel when starting your first test. After that, it’s $32 per month. I couldn’t find much documentation on their REST API, and when PDF is mentioned, it seems more about PDF Forms, which might need further investigation: https://docparser.com/
iText PDF seems to be only focused on Java and .NET: https://itextpdf.com/resources/api-documentation. I would personally prefer something for Node or PHP.
PDFBox: Same situation, it's Java-only: https://pdfbox.apache.org/
Convert API looks very comprehensive, but doesn’t seem to handle PDF to XML conversion: https://www.convertapi.com/api/tag/pdf. I also couldn’t find any trial information, and the subscription starts at $30 per month.
If you have any insights or suggestions on any of these, or know of other options, I’d love to hear them! Does anyone have any information, or perhaps an URL I might have missed, regarding Adobe’s REST API for extraction?

Hi evryone,
I’ve been using the PDF to XML conversion in Acrobat pretty often, and it’s been working well so far. But now, I’m working on a more complex app and I’m looking for an online API that could handle this conversion in a more integrated way.
I stumbled upon this tool: Coolutils, though I haven’t had the chance to try it yet. I’m also wondering if Adobe might offer something similar through Creative Cloud.
While browsing, I found this link: Adobe Tools, but didn’t come across anything specific for XML conversion or an API that can be accessed from a third-party app.
I also came across this service from Adobe: PDF Services API, which I’ve subscribed to, but haven’t received any response yet.
I haven’t had much luck finding a solution so far. If anyone has suggestions—whether it's URLs, forums, or online resources—they’d be much appreciated!
thanks all... have a plesant day... birnou

Regarding SVG, it all depends on what you need.
Have you tried to used Aaron's extensions, https://fireworks.abeall.com/extensions/commands/Export/, or John's https://www.johndunning.com/fireworks/about/SVG.html... they're sufficient in many cases and still allow us to intervene in the code if necessary.
Regarding WebP and AVIF, I need to finalize an article on this subject. Some time ago, I created a Node-based tool that converts Fw productions into WebP and/or AVIF files. The main thing holding me back from writing the paper is that the conversion parameters are still hardcoded. I haven't yet taken the time to set up a proper control interface.

I'm not sure I understand your question, or at least your objective?
The original point in the thread was to be able to open native Fireworks files while preserving their integrity and construction structure. The most common solution is to use Photopea, which bridges the gap between PNG (Macromedia style) and PSD.
The question then turned to the possibility of opening FW image files containing States, hence the previous answer since Photopea is a graphics tool... but now the debate turns to specific animation tools, which generally don't open the structure of image files themselves, but import them using flattened PNG versions, rather than working files. The exception being animated GIF formats, where each image is imported in succession on the TimeLine, which is not the case for States.
Anyway, here again, the easiest thing to do is to try it out and see if it meets your expectations... sorry, I don't have Flash or Animate handy anymore 😉

Short answer : yes and no... Photopea doesn't exactly interpret states the way FW does, and converts them into layers, but the animation remains accessible and still adaptable.
Consistent answer : Why don't you try it yourself... it's free, it's open, and there's nothing to install... https://www.photopea.com/, so you can test and understand for yourself whether you're getting what you want.

I understand what some people are saying when they warn us about Fw's administrative obsolescence, and point to alternatives. I also applaud Ivan Kuckir's remarkable work in making it possible with Photopea to virtually reopen native Fw files while preserving their internal structure.
However, I also realize to what extent people who have never used Fw * don't understand the power of this tool, its simplicity of use, its ergonomics, its extensibility and the catalog of extensions always available (which, by the way, no software can really rival today). ... and the icing on the cake is that today, even though there have been no updates for over 10 years **... despite intensive, daily use, Fw continues to satisfy the needs of thousands of users, smoothly, without latency, and with as much simplicity as ever.
@IAMark 's approach is completely understandable, to enable current Fw users to continue using it, and if new OS no longer allow Fw to be launched, don't worry, we're in the middle of the virtualization era, and processors are increasingly designed to integrate this type of approach, so there will always be a virtual machine that allows an old system to launch Fw.
Adobe, please read this exchange... thank you.
* By this I mean, a real use of Fw in an intensive and thorough manner, therefore producing with it starting from the model to the interface elements through customer validation tests and batch processing, whynot have been part of the user community and having regularly discussed the needs of website and application developers, both with Macromedia, Adobe and third-party developers. In short, having actually used Fw for real and often complex needs.
** Let's stop at 10 years, but ask ourselves how long Fw's updates have been cosmetic. So how long has the core of this tool been updated? 15 years?... and it still runs, it reminds me of my Mustang 68 convertible... which remained in the United States when I returned to France (for the same reasons....)
*** Don't look, there's no 3-star rating reference,... as @rayek.elfin I just wanted to mention a piece of software in this thread, since for him too we could say the same things... Freehand.

I agree with you... it's been a long time since I visited the w3schools site... I had a distant memory of it, so I've just rediscovered the page from which @Sicarii Origin drew his (her ?) inspiration https://www.w3schools.com/Js/js_classes.asp ...
it's true that there's no unorganized framing of the concepts themselves, which could at least have room for instantiation, encapsulation, inheritance with a word on the notion of prototype which often leads to confusion, polymorphism... in short... nothing...
just a series of keywords on the left (which are not linked to each other... and are not helfull for newbies)... no trace of private, public or protected definitions...
so I can only advise @Sicarii Origin , if (s)he reads this message, to go (no pun intended) to https://developer.mozilla.org/en-US/docs/Learn/JavaScript/Objects/Object-oriented_programming and also to this tutorial example, which isn't bad once one've mastered the basic syntax, https://javascript.info/private-protected-properties-methods (the entire tutorial is pretty good too).
the next step, in my opinion, would be to read books by Axel Raushmayer, Addy Osmani, Douglas Crocford, Nicholas Zakas... well... in short, the list is long of what I'd like to recommend...

I don't think the question is about the developer's level of advancement, at least in the sense of expertise, but in the sense of his level of learning.
Learning object-oriented programming is a journey that at first remains vague and complex, although once acquired sometimes still remains vague... hence the need for popularization sites that are really superficial and why not the use W3 schools for that purpose ;).

The bigger question is I don't know why you are using the very verbose 'class constructor' method when you could just use a simple function( see below code example).
By @osgood_
it all depends on how @Sicarii Origin wants to inherit a secondary class, or benefit from the instantiation phase ?

Live Cycle is no more... long live Adobe Experience Manager Form... we'd say... well, back in the day, there were quite a few alternative solutions on Linux... and Live Cycle allowed for more flexibility.... but, depending on what you want to do and the complexity of your forms (hidden fields, interactions between elements, field combs, stamps, signatures, PDF flattening, locking fields, authenticity certification, etc.), don't worry, the heart of the PDF data import operation, FDF, still exists, and so do the libraries (depending on your needs), one still also have plenty tools open source around here too... so it all depends on what you want to do... once you've defined the scope of your needs, I may be able to set up a basic demo for you to understand the flow principle...

@--rick_D , I'm probably a simpleton and didn't understand your initial question, nor its context.
well, I don't have a Mac handy, apart from MVs, but under W10, I empty all the sites from the file panel (which is therefore empty, like new out of the box), I create a file on a Synology server at the root of a buried folder... an empty file containing absolutely nothing, I name it haphazardly index (2).php ... (using spaces and parentheses)... I right-click (equivalent to ctrl-click on Mac) and choose to open with DW... and hop... magical, DW launches and the file opens... files that weren't closed the last time DW was quit, also reopen...
so in my opinion, and if my introductory sentence is wrong... it's a bug on the Mac, either in the system or in the application (La palisse)

Well, it's true that the original idea of CSS signatures was to allow each user to customize browser styles, affecting only the site in question, but it's also true that they allow us to add subtleties to pages independently of each other.

unlike the subject and people we're talking about, DW isn't the center of anything... it used to be when it was the flagship of the fleet around it, but that hasn't been the case for several years now.
all the people I mentioned in the first comment were just a tiny fraction of the people involved in shaping the web so that it could truly become the web application that makes us today work, live and thrive.
so not mentioning other equally worthy members, yes for me, would have been a real lack of respect, and not necessarily waiting for them to leave us before having to mention them. as I say, I may probably be too French, and even too regional from the lowlands where I live, that would have been impolite.

this morning, while reading the news, I learned that Molly Holzschlag had passed away. although this is not a DW-related topic, I thought we could pay tribute to to her on this forum.
after all, it's thanks to people like her, but also Andy Clarke, Mark Boulton, Jeffrey Zeldman, Eric Meyer, Christopher Schmitt, Dave Shea, Andy Budd... that the web has been able to get out of the rut it's been in since HTML4.
for those who didn't know Molly, here's the article that once revolutionized the way I thought about CSS: Thinking Outside the Grid, followed by the preface to Andy Clarke's book Transcending CSS .
many thanks to Molly for all her contributions to the maturing of the web
